Shukry al-Quwatly was founder of the National Conserves Company, the second biggest industrial enterprise in Syria, dating back to 1932. It worked on canning dried vegetables and fruits from al-Ghouta and selling them in the Arab World. The company had been established 30,000 gold Ottoman coins, divided into 15,000 shares.
