Pluto Journals remains an international bespoke company that prides itself on being able to offer individual services to each of our publishers. Our individual service is in terms of being able to respond to the individual needs of our journals and their editors, plus, we offer a full production and marketing service. While we are a small publisher compared to the rest, we offer a more direct, supportive, and efficient relationship with our editors, readers, and aggregators.
Over the last 40 years Roger has been Publisher and Head of two independent publishing companies: Zed Books (1976–86) and Pluto Press (1987–2012). In 2009, Roger began to launch Pluto Journals and continues to manage the company. Roger has been interested in Global Affairs over his whole lifetime, and is currently writing a book on world history.

With more than two decades of advocacy and practical knowledge production, dissemination, and preservation in the Global South, the Redsea Cultural Foundation in Hargeysa, Somaliland, has officially established the Somaliland Centre for African Studies (SCAS) in 2023.
