Drugs, also known as pharmaceuticals, are compounds used in the diagnosis, prevention, treatment, or curing of medical conditions. Medications are prescribed by healthcare providers and dispensed by pharmacists. Issues arising during prescription, dispensing, administration, monitoring, or patient education are referred to as Drug Therapy Problems (DTPs). These problems can lead to adverse drug reactions, treatment failures, and medication errors, resulting in reduced patient outcomes. This article aims to understand the use of health information technology (HIT) in addressing the occurrence of drug therapy problems.
