Wealth Creation and Urbanization Strategies: An Advocacy Framework Towards Sustainable Rural Inclusion

The high rate of the drift from rural settlements and communities to urban and commercial cities points clearly to the fact that this unending and trending issue arises as a result of several gaps/omissions in the rural regions (these which are duly identified and presented on the poster) which can only be bridged through the instrumentality of viable and functional strategies. My comparative research on the rate of poverty between the rural and the urban regions as conducted within Shamage (Nasarawa State, Nigeria) and Maitama (FCT -Abuja, Nigeria) indicates that the official poverty rate in the rural area (Shamage) was almost 20% compared to just 6% in the urban area (Maitama). From this finding, it can be deduced that the significant impediment to the pace of development and actualization of the 17-points SDG agenda in the rural regions is attributed to the high rate of poverty and this calls for the introduction/development of a network towards the extermination of poverty. Meanwhile, "the community is the people, and the people in turn are the community" establishes the fact that a move aimed at enhancing and improving the community is a move that will definitely improve/develop the lives of the people. To this end, for such developmental strides to be implemented, a proven and reliable framework must be adopted. To achieve a state of total poverty extinction, sustainable cities and community development specifically in the rural regions, this research poster thus presents a variety of workable approaches and strategies necessary to be adopted for effective wealth creation programmes, facilities, policies and rapid urbanisation in the rural regions towards curbing the effects of imbalanced population index eithin a particular country and as well improving the standard of living towards the actualization of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) by 2030.
