Abstract

Resumo O presente artigo pensa a articulação entre a representação das mulheres e da paisagem num conjunto de textos literários de Raul Brandão, a partir de um prisma que cruza os estudos de género, os estudos literários e os estudos da paisagem. Em páginas admiráveis, o autor traça retratos ora pungentes, ora luminosos das mulheres dos pescadores (Os Pescadores), das prostitutas (Os Pobres) e de outras figuras femininas (“O Mistério da Árvore”). Ver-se-á de que modo essas personagens femininas poderão ser lidas como um veículo privilegiado para repensar o humano na sua interconexão com o mundo, com a natureza e com a vida.

Abstract From a perspective that crosses gender, literary and landscape studies, this paper considers the relation between women and landscape in a set of literary texts by Raul Brandão. The author draws portraits, sometimes poignant, sometimes luminous of the fishermen’s wives (Fishermen), prostitutes (The Poor), and other female figures (“The Mystery of the Tree”). It will be seen how these female characters are a privileged vehicle for rethinking the interconnection between the human, the world, nature and life.
