Abstract

Resumen Este artículo narra la historia de los movimientos feministas y de mujeres en la región de Atacama, Chile, desde el período de la dictadura cívico-militar del general Augusto Pinochet hasta la actualidad (1973-2021). El estudio se posiciona desde una mirada cualitativa que inda ga en las trayectorias personales y colectivas de actoras claves del feminismo atacameño, a través del método biográfico, recopilando 22 relatos entre noviembre de 2020 y noviembre de 2021. Los resultados principales muestran un recorrido histórico del movimiento feminista/ femenino en el territorio, que inicia con la Unión de Mujeres de Atacama (1984-1990). Secundado por los movimientos feministas y de mujeres tras el retorno de la democracia electoral (1990 y 2016). Y culmina con el movimiento #NiUnaMenos en Atacama y la seguidilla de levantamientos de colectivas feministas en el territorio regional (2017-2021). La principal conclusión pone de manifiesto que la consigna de lucha: "Atacama no es un territorio seguro para las mujeres" describe la violencia e injusticia patriarcal que se percibe en la región y da cuenta del sentir histórico que han acuerpado los movimientos feministas y de mujeres en Atacama.

Translated abstract

Abstract This article tells the story of feminist and womens movements in the Atacama región, Chile, from the period of the civic-military dictatorship of General Augusto Pinochet to the present day (1973-2021). The study is positioned from a qualitative perspective that investigates the personal and collective trajectories of key actors of atacameño feminism through the biographical method that collected 22 stories between November 2020 and November 2021. The main results show a historical journey of the feminist/feminine movement in the territory, which began with the "Union of Women of Atacama" (1984-1990), seconded by feminist and womens movements after the return of electoral democracy (1990-2016). It culminated with the #NiUnaMenos movement in Atacama and the string of uprisings of feminist collectives in the regional territory (2017-2021). The main conclusion shows that the slogan of struggle: "The Atacama is not a safe territory for women", describing the perceivedpatriarchal violence and injustice in the region, reveals the long-standing sentiment of the feminist and womens movements in the Atacama region.
